The Thinning Veil

How is everyone doing? Anyone noticing any changes lately going on around in the energy that surrounds you? Twice a year, during Beltane and Samhain, we experience a thinning veil between our world and the other side. I remember the first couple of years that I started formally working with my gifts I was literally getting bombarded during this time. Now I come to enjoy them as it makes my job a little easier as I get messages from the other side easier. Of course I always get some rather interesting things that happen as well…

So what’s going on? The veil is thinning. For those of us that are highly intuitive, energies are heightened, and we will pick up on them in a variety of ways including sights, scents, sounds, emotions, dependent upon your strengths with your gifts. If you are not shielded properly this can be a very tough time for you so during this time I encourage you to watch your shields. Make sure you are using them faithfully and take time out to ground and reapply them as often as you need to.

For many of you don’t be surprised if you actually need to ground several times a day right now. It’s not uncommon at all and if you do so you may find it helps you a lot. Drink lots and lots and lots of water. I can’t emphasize enough how much water helps. Take long walks outside as your connection with Mother Earth will help you to ground. Get lots of rest. I was in bed super early last night, as I needed it.

Now let’s get to the fun part of it! You can walk around and see what different energies that you can pick up on. Take a walk through an old cemetery or a historical sight and see what energies you can pick up. Watch an episode of Ghost Hunters and try your hand predicting what they might find on t.v. Yes, you can use your gifts from a distance and even on t.v. It’s a great time to practice working with your gifts as they will be heightened. It can be an amazing time of year if you take care of yourself. If you don’t you can wind up really sick from it, so take care of you!

Have a magickal day!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Gifts for Those Who Have Crossed to the Other Side

I adore going to visit cemeteries.  I love walking among the stones and seeing all the artwork and the dates of those who have walked before me.  A lot of people like to visit graves of loved ones and perhaps people that they appreciate when they lived.

I find that it's a tradition among so many to bring something to leave on a visit to the cemetery. I have to admit it's something that I do love seeing when I walk through and look at all the stones.  It's always interesting to see what people leave for their loved ones or for people that they knew or knew of in life.  I always encourage people to bring something from nature.  So for instance whenever I visit my Grandparents I  bring a stone or a feather, sometimes I find it that day on a walk there.  It usually is one that I've found on a walk.  This way a stone is natural and it can blend back in with the landscape.  If you are visiting someone that you know and love or someone that you admire consider bringing a stone, a feather, flower or something else from nature to leave as a tribute.  It will have your energy as you found it and it will honor them by keeping the space that they are resting in free of debris.

If you wish to leave objects of other types, consider setting up an altar or space in your home.  Maybe have their photo up and you can leave notes or other gifts for them. This way it's some place safe and when things have outgrown their time or are getting old you can exchange them out for new things.

Know that your loved ones are always with you.  You can meet them anywhere that you choose to.  It doesn't have to be where they crossed or where their headstone may be.

Have an amazingly magickal day!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Working with Your Projective and Receptive Hand in Magick

Today I wanted to go over a principle in magick and working with energy that is important and should be incorporated into your craft, your projective, and your receptive hand.  We use our projective hand to send or expel energy, and our receptive hand to receive energy.

So which one is which?

For the majority of you, this will be easy.  Your projective hand is the one you use most of the time.  For example, if you are right-handed, your right hand is your projective hand and is the one you use to send energy.  If you are left-handed, your left hand would be your projective hand.  If you are able to use both hands equally, you want to spend some time sensing the energy in your hands and determine which one you feel more comfortable using to send energy.

So what are some examples of how we would use this?

A great example of how this works is charging a gemstone.  Let’s say you want to charge your quartz crystal on the next full moon.  You would stand outside under the Moon. Hold the quartz crystal in your projective hand.  Use your receptive hand to draw the energy of the Moon into your hand, down your arm, through your body, down your projective arm, through your projective hand, to charge the stone.  Make sense?

Examples of Projective Hand Activities

Most of us are healers in some capacity, while you may find you naturally work with both hands during healing, you should be concentrating on sending that energy with your right hand and receiving it with your left.  Whenever you wish to charge items you are working with, always hold them in your right hand, for you are adding energy to them. Anytime you are adding your energy, or universal energy to an object to work with it, use your right hand.

Examples of Receptive Hand Activities

If you want to sense the energy of something you wish to work with, you would hold it in your receptive hand to get an accurate feel for it.  During meditation, try holding your left hand with the palm up to facilitate receiving energy, as this is one of the many places you will receive energy.  If you wish to receive energy from someone, you would join your left hand with theirs to exchange that energy.

I hope this helps!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Welcome to Taurus Season

Welcome to Taurus Season!

Welcome to Taurus Season! It started on April 20th and will last until May 20th. Who's ready to slow things down a bit?  I can't promise that things will actually slow down, but at least you can feel like they have! Sometimes the flow of time has a lot to do with your mindset and Taurus season can really help with that.  Have you ever noticed that if you've been incredibly busy and you are stressed even if you have things under control, you can feel like you don't?  It's that feeling that if you add just one more card on the deck of cards that you are trying so carefully to build, that it could make the whole thing come tumbling downTaurus brings us this wonderful Earth energy that is going to help you to take a deep breath, take a look around you and see what's happening and then you will find clarity in managing everything happening.  It's not that things are slowing down, it's more that you will feel more in control of the changes happening in your life and that's going to make everything feel better. When you feel like you are more in control you are more confident and you will find that it's easier to get things done.  This will help you to find a bit more of that free time that I know a lot of you have been feeling like you are missing.

Many of you are familiar with the sign of Taurus being the Bull. The Bull brings you energy of strength and confidence.  He helps you with self-empowerment and the ability to do anything that you set your mind to. This energy is great for getting things done.  When you combine that strength and confidence with the powerful Earth energy that is grounding and brings you clarity you will find it easier to make things happen and to find success in the things that you are doing.   This is a great time to work with the colors pink and green.  Think about those colors of Spring.  Love and abundance will be all around if you connect with the energy of Taurus all around youTaurus is ruled by Venus bringing you this beautiful energy that will help you to feel more connected and creative.  It's energy that will help you to truly feel your self-worth and to value that which makes you unique.  Spend time in this energy. It's important and for those of you who have been struggling you will find it refreshing.

Taurus also corresponds to your Root and Sacral Chakras.  Your Root Chakra is your first Chakra and located at the base of your spine.  It is incredibly important as it helps you to feel grounded and helps you to bring more security and stability into your life.  When your Root Chakra is out of balance it can throw off the energy of your other Chakras so it is one that you always want to give a bit of extra attention to. It can also cause things like worry and fear to creep into your life more and to cause anxiety. For those of you that may struggle with anxiety, extra Root Chakra work in meditations and energy work can be a huge help.  The energy of Taurus also corresponds to your Sacral Chakra.  This is  your second Chakra located just below your naval. It helps you to feel creative and passionate about life and others.  It corresponds to the color Orange.  When your Sacral Chakra is out of balance you may find that you struggle with intimacy, feeling isolated and you may feel like you lack creative energy.

I have designed a special reading to help you to navigate this energy coming your way over the next four weeks.  You can find it here: Taurus Season Tarot Journey.  Please note that this reading is not just for those born under the Sign of Taurus.  It's here to help everyone navigate the energy that Taurus is bringing your way.

I hope that you have the most magickal day!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Simple Coin Toss Divination

Simple Coin Toss Divination

How many of you have flipped a coin to help make a decision? Have you ever thought of using a coin for divination? This might be a handy tool for you when you are out and about and needing some advice. I am still looking for one of those cool coins that I've seen that have clever things on them like clovers or other pictures, the ones that aren't actually money to tuck in my purse for this. But fret not as any old coin will do.

Reach into your purse or pocket and choose a coin. It doesn't have to be perfect, shiny, any amount, just the one that appeals to you. If it's the only one there, well it must be meant to be! We've all done coin tosses. With this method instead of calling Heads or Tails, designate one sign to be Yes, and one side to be No. If you are one that can flip it up in the air and slap it on your hand awesome. You can do it that way. I however am lacking a bit in the coordination department so sometimes I will use the "drop" method. Oohhhhhh sophisticated eh? LOL Literally drop the coin. See what side it lands on. You just have to make sure you drop it some place it can't roll away from you. Yes, I've managed to have that happen to. You can really do this any way you like. I've flipped it into the sand. I've also done drawings straight out of my purse and used what side came up first. I would suggest experimenting with it first. As with anything you need to know how reliable the method is for you. Try it out and you can keep a lot to see what happens. Let me know how it goes! And if you see any of those fancy coins I'm looking for one!!

Have an amazingly magickal day!

New Moon Blessings!

The New Moon is tomorrow, April 17th at 7:52 in the morning. I wanted to get this to you today for those of you who may wish to work with the new moon this evening. Have a Blessed New Moon! <3 Jasmeine
 New Moon Blessings!
Welcome to your April New Moon!!! I invite you to stand on the road right where you are.  This is not the time to move back in time... you can't change it.  You don't want to look too far forward in time... so much is changing it's hard to know for sure where you are going... instead I want you to plant those feet firmly on the ground and join me in the right here, right now.

Take a deep breath....hold it for three... then breathe out for three.  Do this three times and just give yourself a moment to engage all of your senses one at a time and really look at where you are right now as you are reading this.  Better? Now I want you to search for any tension that you are carrying in your body and focus on releasing it.

We brought in some really beautiful energy with the last Full Moon and I told you that I thought we were going to build upon it with this New Moon and that's exactly what I've been getting.  The focus is on finding calm, inner peace and happiness in your life.  While things may be really busy or chaotic in the world around you, you have to focus on finding that peace within.  When you find that, you can extend your energy to look at the world around you. If you start feeling frazzled or a negative impact bring it back in.

With the energy of this Moon you are going to find yourself coming back to your roots. You are going to find yourself wanting more water, comforting sleep, foods that are better for you. You are going to find yourself feeling called to mind your health and well-being more and that's exactly what you want to do.

You may find yourself wanting to spend more time in the comfort of your own home and finding more comfort in the simple things.  The last couple of nights here we have had rain and thunderstorms.  We have had all the windows on and music off just listening to the rain and the peepers.  It's so incredibly relaxing and helps to slow things down to recover from every day life.  Be very mindful of being overstimulated.  When you find that you are, give yourself permission to retreat.  For those of you who have fur babies you may really enjoy some extra time with them.  This lunar cycle focus on slowing things down and getting yourself what you need.  Take time to breathe and to focus.  Go for walks outside and remember to breathe and take in Mother Nature.  We sat for a long time the other day watching a squirrel build a nest of leaves in a tree.  The funniest thing? Each time he went up, he lost several leaves and would turn around and watch the leaves fall to the ground! You are going to find more joy in the simple things like that.  Visit your local library, take out some books or a puzzle and find a great place to sit down outside and enjoy them!

I'm a child of the 80's and life was different! I don't know that I would give up any of the tech we have today! I honestly love so much of it! However I do think that there is a balance to be found. Know when to unplug.  Choose the time that you do use electronics with purpose and intention and use that time wisely.  Maybe read a book before going to sleep at night and listen to the sounds of the night.

This New Moon is bringing in energy that's going to encourage you to take things at a more relaxing and comfortable pace.  It's going to help you to let go of things that have been weighing you down and to find healing energy where you need it.

What you will find most fascinating about this lunar cycle though is what you will accomplish without realizing it.  If you take this time to slow things down and connect with yourself in the coming weeks, the clarity that you find will be incredibly helpful for your upcoming path as you move towards Beltane and the beating of the drums and the turning of the Wheel call you to quicken up the pace and follow what inspires you in the Summer Sun.

Have a Blessed New Moon and Lunar Cycle.

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Jasmeine Moonsong

Are You A Gifted Intuitive? The Veils Are Thinning

Have any of you noticed a shift in the energy around you? Twice a year, during Beltane and Samhain, we experience a thinning veil between our world and the other side. This can be a time that it is easier to communicate with loved ones on the other side. If you are a gifted intuitive this is a time of year that things can be a bit overwhelming if you aren’t careful.

Everything in the world is made up of energy and some of you will find that you are sensitive to that energy. You will pick up on things that many do not. If you are a gifted intuitive you have the ability to take that energy and turn it into usable information. While this can be a great time of year to work with your gifts you also want to make sure that you are prioritizing personal energy maintenance. Things like grounding, shielding and watching your personal energy are so important during this time. I have a page packed full of articles to help you with that here: Articles for Empaths and Gifted Intuitives.

Looking to learn more about the Thinning Veil? I have some articles to help you with that here:

The Thinning Veil – The veil is thinning. For those of us that are highly intuitive, energies are heightened, and we will pick up on them in a variety of ways including sights, scents, sounds, emotions, dependent upon your strengths with your gifts.

The Thinning Veil – 10 Tips To Navigate It Successfully – As you know the veil is currently thinning and you will find that many of you are definitely more sensitive during this time. While it can make my job a bit easier this time of year because it’s easier for me to do readings and get the information that I want, for those of you who may not be doing this full time this time can be quite overwhelming honestly. So what do you need to know during this time?

Who’s Coming To Visit You With the Thinning Veil? – As the Veil thins it’s easier for those on the other side to communicate with us. It’s even a bit easier for them to find the energy to appear for us. This is something that isn’t as common and I always find it to be exciting when they do. Who’s coming to visit though?

I also have designed a reading that can help you during this time with your gifts. You can find that here:
Across the Veil – Your Intuitive Gifts

I hope this helps!! Have the most amazingly magickal day!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Herbs for Handfasting

Herbs for Handfasting

I have been receiving a lot of questions from several of you getting ready for hand fasting ceremonies. I'm very excited for all of you.  We've been looking at everything from gifts for the loving couple to rituals.  I love herbs and I know most of you do as well.  Herbs can play a beautiful part in your ceremony.

Let's look at some herbs and ways to incorporate them into your special day.

Ivy brings fidelity, friendship and wedding bliss.  A perfect place to incorporate this is into the bouquet that you will carry.  When your celebration is over make sure you start a plant from the ivy shoot in your home.   Ivy is a really hearty plant and you can successfully keep an ivy plant going for years by using the various shoots of the plant.

Rosemary represents love and faithfulness.  It is an ancient custom for brides to add rosemary to their bouquet, this tradition is still quite common today.

Lavender is for luck, devotion and making wishes come true.  I immediately think of the hair.  I love how lavender just looks so romantic, so I can picture loose beautiful hair with sprigs of lavender woven into it.  It also smells amazing so would be a wonderful addition to bouquets, centerpieces etc.

The bride to be often makes a handfasting pillow for that day.  You can embroider your names into this pillow.  Add herbs like lavender and rosemary to the pillow.

For the guests that attend the wedding you could send them home with seed packets for lavender and rosemary, or if you have enough time and the means to do so, send them home with baby lavender plants, or even ivy.

Cinnamon sticks are said to ignite passion.  Make some homemade cinnamon lotion for after the wedding for you and your new husband.

Ginger is another herb to spice things up. Consider adding ginger to a bubble bath after the ceremony is over.

Calendula means joy.  You can hand out little soaps made with it to your guests, place some on the tables as decor, or add some to tea during the celebration.

The possibilities are endless.  If you are planning your own ceremony look through pictures of herbs.  Write down the ones that catch your fancy then research the herb to find out what it means and what it will attract.  Think about all the various aspects of your ceremony and after the ceremony where you can incorporate herbs.  Whenever possible make it so the herbs can be used again later, for example keeping them in pots for centerpieces.  Much luck and love to all of you.

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Earth Grounding Chakra Scavenger Hunt

Learning to balance our energy is an important tool to living a life where we feel happier and healthier.  One important type of energy to balance is the energy of our chakras.  Today I have a fun activity for you that you can take part in whenever you wish.  It will not only help you to balance your chakras but it will also help to bring you some wonderful grounding earth energy and the dreamy energy of air.

Many of you are familiar with the wheels of energy in your body known as chakras. These energetic points in our body correspond to major areas of our body that help to maintain our personal health and well being. You can see them in the picture above.  One of the things that you can do to help keep your chakras open and balanced is by working with the colors that align with the chakras.  For example your root chakra is associated with the color red.  When you work with the color red it helps to keep that energy moving the way that it should.

Today's exercise will help to ground you and to cleanse your chakras and make sure they are moving the way that they should. I love working with Earth energy as it's not only incredibly powerful when you are looking to work with grounding and cleansing energy but it's also incredibly refreshing.

This is something that should be simple and fun.  Choose a place to walk in nature. It can be anywhere that you wish.  On your walk you want to try to find one item that is the same color as each of your chakras.

1. Root Chakra (Muladhara) - Red
2. Sacral Chakra (Swadhisthana) - Orange
3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) - Yellow
4. Heart Chakra (Anahata) - Green
5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) - Light Blue/Turquoise
6. Third-Eye Chakra (Ajna) - Amethyst
7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) - Violet or White

I encourage you to bring a phone or camera on your hunt.  Some things you may be able to touch, others you may just need to observe from a distance.  Spend as much time as you feel is beneficial with each one drawing the energy of the color towards you and visualizing it connecting with the corresponding chakra.  It doesn't have to go in order.

Pictures are amazing as you can take them with you.  If you need more time with a color you can have it.  You can also look back at the pictures later to refresh the energy of your chakras if you need to.

Have fun!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Jasmeine Moonsong

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday!!!

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend!! I know many of you celebrated Easter this weekend and I hope that you had an amazing time with your families!! We had a nice quiet weekend here! It was just Earl and I and the Cats.  While I don't really celebrate Easter I do have fun with the Spring energy of the weekend.  For me I see it a bit like an extended Ostara or Spring Equinox.

We got some bunny cookies.  They are always fun.

Earl made this cute bunny mold that makes....

Bunny Eggs!!! You hard boil eggs and then put them in the mold and they make a bunny egg.  Super cute right?

We had our first thunderstorm of the season on Friday night. I was pretty excited. You can see the rain just pouring down over the door.  It's finally warm enough to have it open most of the time again.  So exciting.

The Moon even made a beautiful appearance each night.  The skies have been gorgeous!!

On one of our walks to the cemetery I noticed something special.  Can you see it?

Isn't that neat? It's a four leaf clover on his stone that survived the winter.  It's real! Earl and I both touched it gently.  I just thought that was the neatest thing!!

If you enjoy bits and bobs like this join me on Patreon!! They gave me a new feature called Quips! They go out to all the free followers. :)) They are essentially like stories on Instagram or Facebook. I've been having fun with them.  If you are into tarot forecasts I do a weekly one each week on there via video each week for the Tarot Reader is in level. Patreon is similar to Substacks for those of you who are on that platform.  They just treat their creators better in my opinion. Something that is becoming incredibly rare lately and is very much appreciated. :)

I hope everyone had an amazing weekend!!

Easy Tarot Card Pulls

Several of you have been asking me for more information regarding reading tarot cards.  Today I wanted to go over a couple of basic spreads for you that you can use when learning the tarot. The first is a spread is the one that I started with many moons ago.  It’s a simple single card draw.  It’s honestly a great way to begin your day.  When you wake up in the morning give yourself a moment to ground and center.  Then take the deck of your choice for that day in your hands.  When you are ready ask,  “What do my guides want me to know today?” Then pull the card and see what your message is for the day.  Most tarot card decks and oracle card decks will have a description included in the book that comes with them.  It’s a great way to get started getting familiar with the cards. These card pulls in the morning are amazing to help give you information about your day and things that you need to know on your path.  If you wish you can ask it in two questions as well asking what you need to know for your day, and what your guides want you to know about where you are on your path.

Whenever you are doing any form of divination you want to be clear about what you are asking.  Form your question in your mind ahead of time and get as specific with it as you can.  If you don’t it can lead to confusing cards or a difficult interpretation of your reading.  So for instance, in my daily pull, you will notice that I ask the question, “What do my guides want me to know today?”  This is more specific than “What will happen today?”  If you want to know about a specific situation clarify your situation.  Feel free to talk out loud. I do when I do my readings.  If you are in a place where it’s uncomfortable for you to speak out loud, do it in your mind.  You can be heard there too if you choose.

The second card layout I use fairly frequently is a three-card draw. The first card represents your past, the second your present, and the third your future. When you use this tarot card layout you will want to ask something along the lines of “What card best represents my past?”  For the present, “What do I need to know most about my present situation.”  For the future, “What do I need to know about my future?” or “Where is my future going based on the path I am currently on.”

While structured card pulls are nice I was taught to go with your intuition.  A lot of times I will pull cards based on what I want to know.  So for instance, say I have a problem that I am looking for a solution to.  For my first card, “What is at the root of the problem I am having?”  For a second card, “What do I need to know about the problem I am having?”  A third card, “Show me what the obstacle is in this problem I am having.” Another card could be “Show me a possible solution or outcome to this problem.” or “What do my guides want me to know about the issue I am having.”

The art of tarot is being able to communicate with your guides. The cards are simply a tool to ease the communication process. So talk to them! Make your questions as specific as you can and then pull a card for your answer.  I think part of the issue and obstacle with people learning tarot is that there is so much to remember, and it can seem confusing when trying to use it.  If you relax and use it as a tool to assist you in communicating then it will become easier.  Look at the pictures on the cards, not just the numbers and symbols that come up. Each card tells a story.  When you pull a card look at it and ask yourself what the divine is trying to tell you by giving you that card.  I hope this helps!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Jasmeine Moonsong

Welcome April!

Welcome to April! Yesterday we celebrated our Full Moon for April and it brought us some beautiful energy of love and happiness to helps us out in our lives and the relationships in our live, including our relationship with ourself. It's also going to help us to find more balance and inner peace in our lives. It's honestly some great energy to kick off the month!

I used a picture of a bluebird for our article today because I just love them. They always bring so much energy of happiness and I hope that many of you will smile when you see it as well! I will write you an article on Blue Birds as your spirit animal soon! :) Last night I got to go for a drive and to listen to the peepers. If you haven't ever seen or heard a peeper they are really tiny frogs that sing in the evenings at the beginning of Spring. They are tiny! I always get so excited when I hear them each year as it's one of those signs that Spring is finally here. Along with them we have the green frogs singing their songs as they mate and the grass if finally starting to turn green. I'm very excited to see what the beautiful new energy of Spring brings for us this month. Our New Moon will be on the 17th of this month and then we will celebrate Beltane on the 1st of May! I know, May sounds so far away but I promise you before you know it I will be sending you the Beltane edition of Moonsong Daily Magick! I just put up the Beltane Reading for you along with the Across the Veil Tarot Reading for you today!
Let's take a look at what else is happening in April.

You have some gentle energy moving around you this month that will be encouraging you to get out there to try new things and to explore new places. Be sure to take that extra time to follow what inspires you. Slow things down where you can. I think you are really going to love the energy moving around you this month.

I am currently sold out of April Tarot Forecasts but you can purchase a Tarot Forecast any time and it will cover the four weeks that happen after you purchase the reading.

Have a great month!

Full Moon Blessings!

Welcome to April and our April Full Moon!! Our Moon tonight is known as the Pink Moon. While I think it would be amazing to go out and see the Moon appear to be Pink in the sky, that won't happen with this Moon. According to the Old Farmer's Almanac this name comes from an early blooming wildflower known as Moss Pink also known as Creeping Phlox. I've also seen this Moon referred to as the Seed Moon among other names. While the winds aren't supposed to be as intense this month as they were in March, you will find them blowing seeds gently by as they make their way to their new homes. Some of you may have already seen the seeds floating by. Many of you will be familiar with seeing those little bits of fluff floating by you when you go outside for walks or drives.

I came across the picture for this article earlier today and I just felt like it was so perfect for this Full Moon as it encompasses so much of the energy that I can feel coming to us with it. I have so much energy of love coming with this Full Moon and that just makes me so happy. It's not just any love ...it's this beautiful ... innocent.... kind love. It reminds me of the love that you receive from a special fur baby and takes you on a journey to your early childhood when you could feel so much love in the world around you. Love and self-love is so important with the energy of this Moon today. Look for it all around you and you need to look for it within yourself. Today is a special day for you to reconnect with yourself, your inner child and the love that is all around you in your life. In the spell that I used for you today I asked you to work with a rose quartz heart. Rose quartz brings beautiful energy of love and it can help you to embrace self-love. It is absolutely perfect to work with for this Moon.

The energy of this Moon is going to call your attention to your relationship with yourself as well as your relationship with others. It's bringing energy that is meant to open up your heart to more love in your life and you may find that this can play out in a variety of ways to finding more love in your relationships to finding new things that call to your heart. There's a strong emphasis on relaxing more and finding more harmony in your life so you will no doubt notice yourself doing all that you can to move away from stress and stressful situations in your life as well as anything that you perceive that has energy that isn't in your best interest. You've been journeying through a lot of energy of change and now it's time to ground and center and to look for more balance in your life. There's going to be a push/pull between things in your life like spending time on yourself or spending time with others and you will find that the best way to manage it is to figure out where that perfect balance is for you. You may find that with some people you want to overshare and others you want to build walls. Keep a close eye on the relationships that you are in and be sure that you are maintaining an appropriate balance within them.

Spend extra time with favorite people, furbabies, stuffed animals, journals and anything else that brings you comfort and loving energy. It's important to wrap that energy of love around you and to heal anything that may need some extra healing from all the challenges you've been navigating in the previous months. Enjoy the energy of this Full Moon! It has a lot of wonderful energy waiting for you!

Have an amazingly magickal day!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

The Magick of Hematite

Hematite is one of the most powerful grounding minerals that you can work with, and it's widely available because it's fairly common.  It's an iron oxide compound that is found in soil and rocks.  It varies in color from the black, gray, and silver many of you are likely familiar with, to brown or red.

My first memory of Hematite was being young and getting a ring at a museum. I was disappointed when it broke a few days after I got it because I knocked my hand against something.  Hematite can be soft and brittle, so if you are using it in jewelry, you want to be careful.   If you are looking to cleanse it, rinse it with water, but don't leave it submerged for any length of time. It can go in the sun briefly, but I would also avoid prolonged exposure.  If you are looking to cleanse it, I would use white sage or leave it out under the Moon in a black velvet pouch. You may want to charge it with Dragon's Blood Incense.

In ancient Egypt, hematite was used to stop bleeding and promote the formation of blood cells. They also believed that it would help support people in the afterlife, so it was often found in tombs. In the Middle Ages, it was known as a "blood stone" because the water often turned red when polishing the stones.  Native Americans used Hematite to make red face paint.  It was often given to warriors before they went to battle because many believed it would help protect the person who carried it and guarantee their survival.

Hematite corresponds to the Root Chakra and is amazing to work with when you are seeking grounding or protective energy.   It can strengthen your connection to the Earth, helping you feel grounded when you carry it.  It gives you courage, strength, and endurance.  It can also help with concentration and focus. If you have trouble sleeping, try placing it in a pouch with a piece of rose quartz under your pillow.  The powerful duo will help you to release any negative energy that you are carrying and bring energy of love around you, making it easier to rest and to get a good night's sleep.

Have an amazingly magickal day!

Working With Your Projective and Receptive Hand In Magick

Welcome Spring!!! Blessings of Ostara and the Spring Equinox!

I am so excited to welcome the first day of Spring today. I've been seeing signs everywhere for a couple of weeks now with the return of the robins and the beautiful crocus flowers that are coming up everywhere around our yard. I am eagerly awaiting the return of the Spring Peepers!! Last year we went out one night and found them in the roads! It was so fun!

Today we are turning that Wheel of the Year and welcoming the energy of Spring and new beginnings back into our life. It's a wonderful day to celebrate the return of our Sun God as he makes his presence known bringing us longer days of light and the new life that is waking up all around us as we see the gifts that Mother Earth is bringing us.

Today we celebrate the Spring Equinox which is the beginning of Spring but it is also a day of equal light and darkness. After today we will find that our days get longer and the nights a bit shorter as we welcome the power of the sun to change the world around us. This is always a special time of year here in New England that I know in just a few short weeks the world will be turning back into the beautiful emerald green that I love the most. Right now many of our trees are bare and our grass is the color of wheat. If you look at places that the sun has been generous lately you can already see the grass starting to turn green again and the buds starting on a lot of the trees. It's time to get all of our plants going in the greenhouse for our gardens that will come back to life bearing us wonderful gifts soon.

We also celebrate the Goddess Eostre today who some of you may know as the Goddess of Ostara. She is the beautiful Germanic Goddess of Spring and of the Dawn. Bunnies are sacred to the Goddess Ostara and depending on the tradition you may have heard stories of her being able to turn herself into one. I have also heard an old story about her saving a bird by turning it into a rabbit. She had arrived late for Spring that particular year and found a bird freezing to death in the snow. She warmed him back up saving his life. She was sad that his wings were unable to be repaired though so she turned him into a beautiful white rabbit named Lepus the Hare. As he had spent so much of his life he was still able to lay eggs. Being touched by the Goddess though, he laid those eggs in a variety of colors. The children were quite fond of these brightly colored eggs and Ostara would often give them to children as gifts. In time the people put out brightly colored eggs as a gift to Ostara in return for her bringing back Spring. This is just one of the many stories that I have been told.

If you are performing your own ritual tonight fresh flowers such as violets, lily of the valley, daffodil's and other early spring flowers are perfect. You can also use fresh herbs such as lemon balm, and lavender. If you live in a climate like mine this may not be possible as we don't have a lot of flowers and herbs yet. Still I am incredibly excited as I know they are coming. As an alternative you can get fresh herbs at the store, or just decorate with beautiful spring colored eggs. In addition you can use light green, lavender or purple candles on your alter, and burn an incense like jasmine or patchouli.

Making a special Ostara dinner? Choose fresh green leafy vegetables and sprinkle seeds upon the top of your dish. You can serve special Ostara bread to go with your salad. For the main course think about dishes involving eggs, or maybe a nice quiche, be sure not to forget cakes for dessert! You can also add things like fresh fruits, sprouts and flower dishes.

Crafty Witch - Ostara Seedlings

This is an idea that I came across many years ago that I thought was just perfect for Ostara!

It will make a beautiful decoration for your altar or anywhere in your home really and when you are done you can plant the seedlings in the ground right in the eggshells.

It’s best to take the top of the eggs when they are raw.  When you have them the way you want them, fill the eggs with potting soil.   Choose a plant that you want in your yard this year or a bigger pot as the eggs will be a very temporary home.  Be sure to put them somewhere where they will get enough light. If you have the LED Daylight bulbs in your home this will help you to putt hem where you want. put them

I love how they put the eggshell plants on top of simple wire holders and surrounded them with moss and stones.  It’s just beautiful.

I hope that you have the most magickal day!

Falling or Jumping Cards in the Tarot

How many of you read tarot cards? When you are doing a reading, how many of you have had a card fall out of the deck or even seem to jump out of your hand?  What do you do with these cards?

When I am reading, any card that falls out of the deck when shuffling I treat as a card that I need to look at.  Depending on the question that I’ve asked I’ve also found that it may want to be read in addition to whatever card I pull for the question. I’ve had cards just fall slowly at my feet, and I’ve had them come out as if they had a mission. The ones that fall slowly I will consider how they relate when I include them.  Those ones that seem to come flying out of the deck I know are important and I will often let my client know that this card wanted to be read.  I’ve even had experiences where a card will just  appear with the other cards when I am taking a picture at the end of the reading.  I will often go back and read those as well.  I believe that if a card wants to be included it should be.  It may not answer the question that I am asking directly but by moving into my reading it lets me know that it’s important to whatever question I am asking and should be considered. So when these cards make their presence known, I acknowledge that and pass along the message they are trying to get across.  Most tarot readers will agree with me on this practice.  From what I’ve seen, the majority of tarot readers will add the card to their spread, incorporating the card into their reading.

With certain cards I sometimes like clarification.  Maybe the energy isn’t as strong as I would like, or maybe it is incredibly strong. I will write down somewhere what the card was and then tuck it back into the deck. I will then reshuffle the cards.  I love when things show up multiple times and you would honestly be amazed at how many times this card that has jumped out has shown it’s determination and shown up again when I layout the cards.  Does this always happen? No.  I would venture to say well over 50% of the time it does for me.  I must confess I love it when it does. When it shows up again I now have additional insight as to why that card is so important by where it is placed in the spread.

If it does not show up again though don’t worry.  I find that the ones that don’t show up again either seem to need to be read on their own, or they will appear again in a different place.  Sometimes it will be a combination of the two.  This is one of those things that always seems to happen to me.  If it doesn’t seem to fit perfectly at the time, I relax as I know it will make perfect sense later on.  Usually I will receive that “aha!” moment within 24 hours.

I have a profound love and interest in those cards that “fall into my lap”.  For me it’s like my guides sending me a very personal message.  I love when they make it obvious.  As always, when you are reading the most important thing is to follow your intuition.  If you like how I do it, by all means feel free to incorporate it into your readings the way I was taught to.  If you want to stay with the main method that’s always okay too.  What matters is what is most comfortable for you.

Friday the 13th..... X 2!!

I love Friday the 13th.  That's no secret.  I was so excited to find that we are celebrating our second Friday the 13th this month!! How fun is that? :) The 13th was also on a Friday in February. I love when things like this happen.  So know that today is going to be an extra lucky day for you!

I've always found Friday the 13th to be a lucky day for me.  Perhaps it's because I feel like I've always been a witch! Even when I was little I will look back at things I was interested in and doing and it just makes so much sense now! Making potions in buckets out of leaves and sticks... hunting for fairies for hours, readings stories about unicorns... writing to Laurie Cabot. lol :) I think the last one probably was one of the biggest signs.

While I found most people went around being nervous about Friday the 13th I found that they always were the best days!! I had so much fun on them and I found that often good news or special things came my way.  See if that happens for you today!!!  Interested in learning more? I have an article that I wrote for you:  Make Friday the 13th Your Lucky Day!

I hope that you have a magickal day!

How to Make a Protection Jar

Sometimes you want a bit of extra energetic protection! This is a simple jar that you can make and you typically want to hide it or bury it near your front door to help protect your home.  If you are trying to protect your property you can also add it to the corners of your property.

You want to start with a glass jar.   I would choose a small jar so that it's easy to hide.   In the jar you want to place the following items:

nail - preferably a rusty nail. If you can find one in your home somewhere that's the best.

fingernail clipping and/or hair - I know pretty gross but it adds your energy to the jar.  Grab the hair from a brush.

Rosemary - one of the best protection herbs.

salt - if you have rock salt this is best.  If not table salt works as well.

Assemble the jar and leave it out under the Moon for one night.  Ask your guides to help you to add protective energy to the jar.  Before  you hide it or bury it ask your guides to bring protective energy to it as well.

That's it! Easy right? :)

Have an amazingly magickal day!
