The Parrot as Your Spirit Animal

 

I will never forget the first time I came face to face with a parrot.  I was staying at a place in Grand Cayman where they had several of them just living outside free.  They had perches, no cages and I believe they stayed there because they were fed.  I loved how bright their colors were and how they talked to me when I gave them attention. It was such a neat experience.  

Let's dig into some of the energy that Parrots bring to you as spirit animals.  When looking to learn the energy that a spirit animal brings your way one of the things that you can do is look to their physical appearance.  The first thing that no doubt jumps out at you with the parrot is their beautiful bright colors.  They bring energy that helps you to embrace what makes you unique and to learn to shine bright in who you are and to be confident in yourself.  Their colors remind you to be playful and to have fun each day in life. 

The next thing that you want to look for is behaviors that the spirit animal you are working with has.  Parrots are known to mimic.  It can be a lot of fun to watch them.  They bring you energy that helps you to mimic things that perhaps you want to see or do in your own life.  They bring you energy that is meant to help you to learn things and explore in your life.  If you've ever watch them play you can watch how they patiently try things to figure out how they work.  They bring you energy that can help you to feel curious and in doing so to find clarity in how to make things happen in your life.  

The Parrot teaches you that the world is your canvas. They teach you to create the life that you want in your life by creating it.  They are amazing at communication.  Therefore they help you work on your gifts of speech and effective communication. They help you to learn to ask for what you may want and need in your life.  They help you to learn to express yourself.

New Moon Blessings!

 

Welcome to your September New Moon!! I'm so incredibly ready for this New Moon.  We've been navigating a lot of strong energy of change since July and I've been feeling the shift of energy that this New Moon is bringing us coming our way and I've honestly been ready to welcome it. 

I love Summer.  There's something about the extra sunshine and the bright energy that it brings, all the activities going on and just fun energy that Summer brings that I absolutely enjoy.  In a couple of weeks we will feel the turning of the Wheel again as Summer turns to Autumn and we celebrate the Autumn Equinox and the second harvest with Mabon.  Being a New England girl I fully experience the Wheel of the Year and I love that.  My soul is attuned to it.  In the Summer everything moves so fast and I move fast with it.  There's so much to see and do.  Then come the cooler mornings and the cool evenings and the bursts of colors in the leaves that let you know that it's time to start slowing the pace of things a bit.  You can start to find the smells of Autumn moving in around you and you can feel your body relax as you know the pace of things will calm down a bit and you can start to catch up with all that you've been experiencing.  It's time for warm teas, dinners that make the house smell amazing, and walks where you need a sweater and you know your cheeks will be cool making you want to spend extra time outside. 

This is the time of year that you start to relax and I feel that this New Moon is bringing the energy that is going to bring us into Autumn and I welcome that.  It's time for pumpkins, Cinnamon brooms and long walks in the woods with the leaves starting to crunch under your feet.  It's time to slow things down.  Not completely but just enough to stop and breathe a bit more... to relax into things a bit more.  It's time for the harvest fairs and appreciating the abundance that is all around us now.  This Moon is bringing energy that is going to help you to slow down and see everything happening around you.  Do that.  Slow the pace of things a little bit.  Get that extra time outside that your soul so desperately needs.  

Our New Moon today is in Virgo and Virgo brings peace, order and grounding energy into your world.  This energy will help to smooth out the energy of change that you've been navigating and to calm the chaos that some of you are still experiencing.  It's going to bring clarity that helps you to understand where you've been traveling and where you need to be.  In a world full of change where sometimes things can feel really challenging and confusing the energy of Virgo often is quite soothing helping you to relax and clearing away the energy and thoughts that aren't helpful to you making it easier for you to find clarity. It can help you to restore order to things happening in your life.  If you have anything that you need to plan or organize you are going to find that the energy moving around you is going to be helpful.  This is especially true over the next 24 hours or so.  It will be strongest then, but it will follow you through this lunar cycle.  Use this energy to help you to plan out what you need to work on and how to make it happen.  You will find energy of success and productivity quite high this lunar cycle. 

Let go of worries and fears.  Sometimes they are our biggest enemy.  They take up the space of energy that can help you with things that you need in your life. It sounds so easy right? I know... sometimes it can be really hard.  Do your best to let them go when and where you can.  Make it a point to be in the moment.  Look for the love moving around you. You always want to do your best to move towards it.  Be careful that you don't allow yourself to get hung up on the past or even worse that you move towards it.  It's time to follow your heart and your intuition and to move forward towards what feels right to you in your life.  Move towards what helps you to find and hold that inner peace.  The energy of Virgo will help you to find yourself in waves of energy that sometimes make it very hard to hear your own voice.

Four Elemental Tools For Your Altar

 

Four Elemental Tools for Your Altar

How many of you work with magick?  Do you have an altar set up for your work? It's nice to have a special place to go when you want to work with energy.  An altar is a great place to raise energy and hold onto the energy you want to work with more.

You will find that most altars include an Athame, Pentacle, Wand, and Chalice.  How many of you know why?  In many traditions, they represent the four elements.  The Athame, dagger, or sword represents the Fire Element.  The Wand represents the Air Element.  The Pentacle represents the Earth element.  The Chalice represents the Water element. In some traditions, you may see the Athame representing Air and the Wand representing Fire.  In my practice, I use them the first way I mentioned.  If you want to enhance the energy of the elements on your altar, you can place additional items that correspond to the elements on your altar.  Think about things like feathers for air, stones for earth, a candle for fire, and anything else that you can think of.  Have fun with it! This is your special space!

For those of you who work with the tarot, you will find it Interesting to note that the tarot card suits follow this correspondence as well. Often in tarot decks, you will find the swords represent air, and the wands represent fire.  To me, it's easier to think of wands as the suit of inspiration, that passionate fire for things in life.  Swords often represent communication, and if you aren't careful with your words, they can cut.  This is how I used to remember them when I was learning tarot.

I’ve found that an Athame is typically used more in solitary practice, and a sword is more often used when in a coven. It doesn’t have to be that way. It’s just something I’ve observed through the years. I always mention that every tradition has different methods and ways of seeing and doing things.  I believe in always going with your intuition and what feels most comfortable for you, as that is what matters most when raising your energy and intent.

Welcome September!!

 

  Welcome September!!
  Welcome to September!!!  The photo above is from one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen out on the Cape.  It's almost all the way out on the tip of Massachusetts.  It's on an area of the cape that not a lot of people go and I love that.  You can tell that there's only a couple of sets of footprints on the beach above. You have to hike through some dunes to get there.  It's amazing.  We loved it so much we are headed back this year for my birthday. :) We are going to spend a couple of nights there. It's our first time staying in this area of the Cape. I'm super excited. It's a bit further than we usually go but I love that the area doesn't have anywhere near as many people.  It's gorgeous.  They also have the tea place that I found last year so guess where I'm going. :))

September is my favorite month in New England. If I could stop time right here and live some place like this all year I would.  You wake up to chilly mornings and it gets chilly again after the sun sets. The days are warm but usually not so warm it's uncomfortable and we almost always have clear blue skies.  The leaves are just starting to turn so you will get bright splashes of reds, oranges and yellows in places but for the most part everything is still lush and full green.  This is also an incredibly cozy time of year for smells. As the weather cools the things that get cooked in this area also shift and you will find that you smell more of those Autumn smells like apples, cinnamon and pumpkin spice.  If you don't live in New England and are looking for the best time to come here I would highly suggest September. It's also the end of fair season! We have a ton of outdoor fairs and festivals in our area this time of year. 

Of course it's also the beginning of the Season of the Witch and New England definitely gets into that.  The decorations are already starting to go up in places.   Many of you know that our Autumn Equinox is on the 22nd of the month and it is also Mabon our second harvest of the year as well as the beginning of the Season of the Witch!!  I have Mabon and Autumn Equinox Readings on the shop waiting for you. 

Our New Moon is on the 10th of the month this month! I will be out of town on that day so the New Moon Tarot Messages won't be available for the New Moon this month. However the September New Moon Readings are available now!!!  I'm going to take a few days off for my birthday to go and relax at the ocean.  It's the big 50 this year! I'm in disbelief.  I wanted to start this chapter of my life right so I'm celebrating with some much needed quiet down time at a place that calls to my soul.

Flame Divination

 

 

Working with the tarot cards is one of many forms of divination.  I started my journey a long time ago by trying various divination tools like pendulums, tarot cards, crystal balls, and others. I even tried a small tire on a rope one time.  It worked. ;)

One of my favorites I found a long, long time ago in a bath.  Coming from New England, I get chilly in the winters, and one of the best things to get the chill out is a long bath with candles.  It's so relaxing. One night, while I was watching the candle flame dance, I wondered if I could use it for divination.  I was excited when I realized that I could!  

My experimentation with this was quite simple. I based it upon my divination with the pendulum.  I prompted it to "Show me Yes," and it moved in a clockwise circle.  "Show me No" made it move counter-clockwise.  Moving back and forth in a line meant unsure or unknown.  I also got bouncing up and down, which I interpreted as excitement or spirit is with me.

With time, I added some additional things to my divination.  The flame fading meant that there was something I needed to watch out for.  If it got brighter, it was a more positive result or more likely to succeed.  

As with any divination method, I always encourage you to work with spirit and to figure out what works for you.  It's why I started with the questions, "show me yes" and "show me no."

Full Moon Blessings!

 

Welcome to your August Full Moon!  Tonight our Moon is extra special as it is paired with the Lunar Eclipse. This Lunar Eclipse brings the end of eclipse season.  Eclipse Season often brings a lot of strong energy of change and while you won’t find that completely subsides you should find that things start calming down a bit.  Remember that the energy that you’ve worked with this Eclipse Season will stay with you for the next several months. It’s a great time to take a look at changes that you’ve been working on and how things have been shifting in your life and think about how you want to expand upon that and grow that energy with the Full Moon tonight and in the weeks moving forward.

Let’s dig into some information for you.  First, some of you may be seeing different dates for the Full Moon.  The Full Moon reaches it’s peak illumination just after midnight at 12:18 in the morning on August 28th. That’s why some of you may be seeing different dates. I personally work with the energy of the Full Moon on the night that is closest to it’s peak illumination.  I will be working with it tonight and that’s why I wanted to get all of this information to you today. There is also a Partial Lunar Eclipse today. A partial eclipse happens when the Moon passes through the shadow of the Earth.   The shadow is going to cover 96% of the Moons surface.  Time and Date has a great page that will help you to see if you are able to see it and when.

Our Moon tonight is in Pisces. Pisces is a water sign and will help you to feel more connected to your emotions and your intuition.  When you pair it with the energy of Eclipse Season you may find that it brings things that to the surface that you didn’t know that you were thinking or feeling.  Eclipse Season can help to facilitate endings of things so some of you may find that there are some things coming to an end to make room for new beginnings in your life.  The Full Moon will help to illuminate things that you need to see.  You should find it bringing you energy of inspiration and helping you to see the changes that you’ve been making in your life and how those changes are impacting your life as you move forward.

Our Full Moon this evening is often known as the Sturgeon Moon.  It comes from the giant sturgeon that used to be found in the Great Lakes this time of year.  I love that it’s pairing with the fish energy of Pisces as well.  As a spirit animal fish bring you energy to help you to go with the flow.  They help you to connect to your intuition and to find the current of energy that you want to follow in your life.  You will find that the energy coming in with this Full Moon is going to work incredibly well with all the energy of change that you’ve been navigating.  You should find that it helps you to smooth things out and to feel more balanced trusting in the path that you are on and feeling more like it aligns with what you want in your life.  As you work with this energy you should find that you are feeling stronger and more confident.  Spend some time soaking up the light of the Moon if you can.  It’s bringing you some great energy that I think many of you are going to enjoy.

Create Your Magickal Diary

Many of you keep a Book of Shadows to collect things that pertain to your craft.  Many of you also may keep a magickal journal that you record the results of spells in and other tidbits to do with magick that you may not feel are quite ready for your Book of Shadows. Today I have another type of journal that I think many of you will enjoy keeping: The Magickal Diary.

This is a place for you to record your hopes, your dreams, your challenges, your journey with the craft and anything else you can think of.  Include not only writing but pictures, scraps of things you wish to remember, dried flowers, ribbons, tickets and anything else that you can think of that will add your energy to this Diary. This should be a place that you always feel welcome to come and connect.  It should be a place that you can revisit memories and the stories that make up your journey.

One thing that you may want to do is color code your journal.  For instance you may want to color the corners of the pages with green if they are happy or red if they are a challenging day.  If you are having a challenging day and you wish to only draw upon your happy energy you can visit the green sections.  If you are having a good day you can revisit some of those red sections and send your past self healing energy and love. 

This has the potential to be a wonderfully magickal experience.

Eclipse Season Check In

How's everyone doing? Hanging in there navigating the energy of change moving around you? I know we've been going through some strong energy of change over the last few weeks with the energy that the Lion's Gate brought for you and now we are in Eclipse Season.  

Many of you who are with me are sensitive to energy.  Some of you are even gifted intuitives.  When there is energy of change moving around you, many of you are able to pick up on that.  While I always talk about the things that you want to watch out for like endings and new beginnings or opportunities, something else that you really want to keep a close eye on is your health and well-being.   For those of you who are gifted intuitives you are going to find that your intuition gets stronger during energy of change to help you to keep up with everything going on around you.  Even if you don't have intuitive gifts your body can sense all that energy moving around you.

Don't fight what your body is calling you to do. If you feel tired you may find you need a bit of extra sleep.  It's not uncommon to be more hungry or thirsty during this time.  Choose healthy protein packed foods and drink a lot of water.  This is a time that it's more important to eat clean so if you are someone who loves things that you know aren't so great for you, try to really limit them for the next couple of weeks and just give your body what it needs.  It will help.

Be aware of how tense your body feels and the stress that you are carrying.   Work with things that help you to release stress and to release energy that you may be carrying that isn't in your best interest.  Try going for a walk, listening to soothing music or taking a long bubble bath.  

While it can be a challenging time, there's also a lot of potential in the energy that is around you right now. In taking care of yourself the best way that you can you will find that you have a better chance of finding your way to the things that you need to find and more success in the things that you are doing if you prioritize you! :)

Follow Your Magick

 

  I get lots of emails and messages from all of you and I truly love it.  One of the questions I get asked the most, is what should you be studying? Most of us grew up in a society where organized religion was the norm, and many of these religions had structures for you to follow.  Part of what I love about being a witch, is that it doesn't.  

Witchcraft can be a very eclectic religion and it is much about finding yourself and your personal path. Depending on where you are and what practices you are forming connections with you will find that there can be a lot of variance. That being said, what might be right for one person to explore and study, is not necessarily right for the next person.   I always recommend reading and taking classes as those are pretty obvious places to gather information, but when you do so, read and take those classes that appeal to you.  Don't worry about how they fit into your personal spiritual path, for what may seem chaotic and unorganized if you're going in many directions like I typically do, you would be amazed to find out how it all comes together like pieces in a puzzle down the line.  I love those "aha!" moments I have as work over the years will all of a sudden come together in a concept that makes complete sense to me and helps me in my path.  

I always suggest going to a bookstore and perusing the New Age section.  Whenever I find a bookshop or library I'm always excited to check out the sections that call to me.   Every time I do this, I read what is meant for me at that time.  I look at the books and see what "calls to me" on that particular day, and it no longer surprises me when I find myself nodding my head, knowing that what I am reading is in fact a message from my guides to help me on my path. 

You can also do this with art.  Look on photo sites such as Pinterest or Instagram and make note or pin those pictures that interest you.  Cut pictures out of magazines and create a new book with the things that bring you happiness and call to you for your own personal path.  Before long you will have a collection going and it may just provide the inspiration you need to research that next subject on your path.  For instance if you have a lot of fairies, perhaps you next want to look into the fae, or if you find yourself collecting and being drawn to Egyptian pictures, maybe it's time to peruse the history of Egypt and some Egyptian deities.  Your guides are always there to help you and give you the clues on where you need to go next.  

We are all one, yet we are all unique.  Honor what makes you an amazingly beautiful person, and follow your personal path for it is there you will find yourself and the Magic of this wondrous world we live in. <3

Pieces of You From the Past

 

I have always been interested in past lives. The other day, I found myself with a nice cup of tea, down a bit of a rabbit hole, looking at some past-life reports I had done for myself almost 20 years ago now.  I spent the better part of that cup of tea perusing all the lifetimes that I’ve had.  What was interesting was how much I could identify with each of the lifetimes that I had explored.  I am an old soul and, as such, have walked many, many lifetimes.  I know I’ve had a couple of you who have come up as old souls as well.  I had forgotten how many lifetimes came back to me that I was some form of a Seer.  Isn’t that incredible? In one of the readings I had done, about 30 years ago, I remember being told that if I meditated and traveled, I would find my way back to my gifts.  Here I am! It wound up being a full-time career for me in this life.

If you think about the life you are living today, the things you experience, the memories you have, the challenges you face, and the love you experience, they all go into making you who you are today. Now I want you to expand that thought.  Think about how many times your soul has come back.  Even if you are a newer soul with only one or two incarnations.  What if I told you that your soul could hang onto things from the past?  You may find you remember bits of it here and there through past-life readings and regressions. Even if you can’t actively remember everything, your soul does, and those lives, those experiences, the love that you had all go into making you who you are today.

A story I have told many of you is from many years ago, when I was in a shop and picked up a pendulum for the first time. I didn’t know what it was or what it was for, but I immediately started using it correctly.  Of course, I didn’t really know that at the time, but I do remember the shop owner looking at me curiously. Fast forward to my shock and awe, a few weeks later, when I was taking a class on pendulums and realized I knew exactly what I was doing. Yet, I hadn’t encountered that information in this lifetime before.  I still work with that pendulum today to assist me with your readings.

Consider today who you may have been in a past life and how that may be impacting who you are today.  It’s an interesting thought to meditate on.

Welcome to your August New Moon!!  This isn't just any New Moon.  It's a New Moon with a Solar Eclipse bringing us into Eclipse Season.  The Eclipse is an annular eclipse or total solar eclipse creating what will look like a ring of fire in the sky for those of you in certain areas.  Do you want to know if you will be somewhere that you can see the Eclipse? Eclipse Season happens approximately every six months and can bring fast moving energy of change.  This is a time that you will no doubt find endings and beginnings happening in your life.  For some of you, these may be some big changes and these things may also occur rapidly so take a deep breath and keep a close eye on things happening in your life.  If you have been looking to make a change or changes in your life you may find that this energy helps you with what you are trying to do.  It's going to be especially powerful in helping you to make changes in your life that truly align with who you are and what you want. 

Eclipse Season has the potential to illuminate things that you may have hiding in the shadows that may be holding you down or holding you back.  We all have things that we send to the shadows.  The trick is to remember what you have there and to work on it when you can.  That helps to keep things under control.  This energy is also going to help to illuminate dreams and desires that you may not even realize that you have.  Have you been ignoring something that your intuition is telling you? That may come up in the coming weeks as well! The New Moon sets the pace for the lunar cycle and energy from eclipse season can set the pace for the next 6 months so you definitely want to work with the energy coming your way and pay attention to things happening. 

Are you an old soul? Don't be surprised if past life memories come up.  It's a great time to keep a dream journal and to write down things that are coming through for you.  Some of you may find that this is a time that you are tackling working on some karmic energy that will free you up to move closer to what it is that you want in this life. 

Our New Moon is in Leo. :) It's boosting the energy of change that many of you worked with over the last few weeks with the Lion's Gate.  You may find that things you've been working on are met with energy that helps you to find additional success.  The Moon in Leo brings you extra courage and confidence.  Use this energy to help you to tackle things that you may have struggled with in the past or that you need a boost of confidence on to go after today.

Everyone has things that are new that are trying to begin in your life right now and to do so you are going to find that you need to let go of or release some things to make that happen.  Be careful of holding on too tightly to things like the past, past memories or things in your life that you have right now.  Some of you may find that you are on a completely different path in 2027 and the foundation for that path may be set in motion with the energy from this New Moon.

Hang in there! It may be a bumpy ride but if you work hard you are going to find some great things coming up on your path.  Make sure that you are being true to yourself and what you want!

Lughnasadh Blessings!

 

Lughnasadh Blessings to you all!   Today we celebrate the first of the harvest festivals that occur over the next few months and include Mabon and Samhain in September and October. Yes, you saw that right....Samhain! It's on the way!  I always get excited this time of year.  It's so much fun.  Our Sabbat today falls between the Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox, as we turn the wheel of the year once again.   Today is the perfect day to celebrate the spirit of the harvest and give thanks for the abundance that Mother Earth is blessing us with at this time.  In the Northern Hemisphere most traditions celebrate Lughnasadh on August 1st.  In the Southern Hemisphere it is celebrated on February 1st.  Our days are starting to get shorter, but we still have more light than darkness in our days. 

For those of you that garden you will recognize that most vegetable crops are ready now. Some areas may be on their second or even third rounds.  Here in New England it's been a bit hot and dry!  We finally had some storms come through in the last couple of weeks that brought us some much needed rain.  We are beginning our first harvests on our deck garden of tomatoes and peppers and that closely reflects upon the first of the three harvests that I mentioned to you. I often find that where I live closely follows the Wheel of the Year.

Lughnasadh gets it's name from the Celtic Sun God Lugh. It means the "marriage of Lugh."   In Celtic traditions, tonight we honor the God Lugh, the celtic craftsman, and the God of skills and talents and light. In Celtic mythology, Lugh is associated with the grains and harvests as he once held a harvest fair in honor of his stepmother, Tailtiu.  The name Lugnhasadh comes from his name and is in honor of his work, and the fair he held that day in tribute to his mother.  The three days prior to this festival were considered sacred to ancient Celts, and they used them as a time of purification. 

It is also an old Celtic custom to harvest billberries on this day.  If the harvest was abundant it was considered a sign of how the next couple months of harvest would go.  The closest thing I have to billberries in my area is blueberries. 

If you are doing a ritual tonight, here are some ideas to prepare your alter.  If you are choosing to honor the God Lugh tonight place a symbol of your craft or trade upon your alter.  Other items that are appropriate to include for tonight's celebration include baskets, grains, fruits and vegetables, other symbolic gardening items, and fresh flowers.  Some symbols of Lughnasadh include grapes, corn dolls, iron tools or weapons and armor, fall flowers, straw braids, and onion garlands.  Altar cloths should be in rich yellows, oranges or reds to represent the end of summer and upcoming fall harvest.  Candles should be in rich fall colors as well, reds, oranges, and yellows.  Want to know how to make corn dolls? Welcome August!!! 
 

I know we start August tomorrow but tomorrow is also the day that we celebrate Lughnasadh and Lammas and there's so much going on in August that I wanted to be sure that I got this to you today before everyone left for the weekend! Make sure you check back with me tomorrow for all the information on celebrating Lammas and Lughnasadh!  It is the first of three harvests to include the upcoming Mabon and Samhain and it's the midpoint of Summer. :)

Here in New England each month brings a shift in the nature.  Things look different, sound different and smell different. Honestly if you dropped me into a random month where I live I could probably tell you exactly what month it is based on what is happening around me in nature.  This is especially true of the warmer months.  Where I live, I truly live the Wheel of the Year and I love that.  With August I say goodbye to the fireflies and primarily the sound of tree frogs at night and welcome in the sound of Katydids and crickets.  It's not subtle! The night song is completely different in August than it is in July and I love them both. 

We are firmly in Leo season feeling the influence of the mighty leo around us bringing us extra courage and confidence to go out and manifest those things that we want in our lives while also getting out there to try new things, meet new people and hopefully discover some new places in our lives.  It's a time of learning, exploring and soaking in the beautiful and empowering positive energy that the Sun brings us this time of year. 

Here in New England it's the beginning of fair season.  All of our towns are bursting with fairs, festivals, farmers markets, concerts and other outdoor activities.  It's definitely a great time to be here. I know our calendar is filling up quickly with things that we want to do.  It also corresponds with Lughnasadh, the first harvest and the harvest season.  The beginning of the harvest season also reminds us that soon the wheel will turn and it's a good time to start harvesting the energy of abundance that is around us now to have during the Winter and the early Spring.  

This is a huge month for energy shifts.  We are currently working with the energy of the Lion's Gate Portal.  If you want to learn more I published an article about if for you yesterday here: Lion's Gate Portal.  On the 12th of this month we have our New Moon and the beginning of Eclipse Season!!! This New Moon will be a total solar eclipse! It's bringing some big energy!  We will feel the influence of that energy until our August Full Moon and lunar eclipse on the 27th.  There's a lot of big energy of change to work with in the coming weeks! Let's take a look at what's coming our way!

August 1 - Lammas or Lughnasadh - On the 1st of this month we celebrated our first of three harvests on our Wheel of the Year.  It's time to celebrate the crops and gifts that the Earth is giving to us now.

August 5 - Celtic Tree month Hazel begins.

August 12 - New Moon

August 12 - 13 Perseids Meteor Shower

August 13 - Roman Festival of Pomona, goddess of apples and orchards

 August 27 - Full Moon

August 23 - Vulcanalia the Roman festival of craftsman.

August 31 - Raymond Buckland birthday.

I pulled the Page of Pentacles for this month.  It reminds you to get out there and explore.  With all the energy of change happening around you and big energy you will find that your intuition is stronger.  It strengthens to help you to keep up with all the shifting energy so that you don't miss anything.  In a year that you are meant to learn more about yourself and to ensure that you are walking a path that is authentic to you, you are going to find that this is an incredibly good time to explore and to try new things.  You have changed a lot in the last year and there is till more changing to be done.  Pay attention to how your opinions of things have shifted and are shifting and honor that. You may find that things you didn't enjoy before you enjoy now and things that brought you so much joy before don't anymore. That's ok! What's important is that you are aware of those shifts and allow yourself to feel them.  This is a powerful time to work on manifesting changes that you want to see in your life.  This includes changes that are too big to do right now! It's a great time to start looking at things that you want for the future.

As promised! I will dig into the Lion's Gate Portal a little with all of you today.  A couple of weeks ago I released a special Lion's Gate Reading for all of you.  If you missed it you can find it here: Lion's Gate Portal Reading.   The Lion's Gate Portal is something that happens each year.  This year however the energy really was calling to me strong and so I wanted to do a bit of work with it with all of you.  

The Lion's Gate Portal occurs when the Earth, the Sun in Leo and the star Sirius are in alignment.  This is an annual event and it typically peaks around August 8th, or 08/08, thus the strong 8 energy.  In numerology 8 brings powerful energy to help you to achieve your goals. It helps you with inspiration, focus and drive to go after the things that you want.  If you put the number 8 on it's side, it also is the infinity symbol and I've always seen that as a spiritual sign between you and your guides to work together. :) I have had an infinity ring on my hand for probably about 20 years now to symbolize that bond as it's so important to me.  



It's raining and dark here right now so not the best picture! :) You can see it though! It's a super simple ring. I also always have the blue moon on my wrist that you can see.  The blue moon on that bracelet is my representation of the New Moon and my connection with the energy of the New Moon.  Back to the lion's gate!

We've talked about the powerful connection with the number 8.  Keep an eye out for the number 8 and the infinity symbol as it wouldn't surprise me if you start noticing it all around you as a sign.  

I mentioned that it's something that happens annually but this is the first year that it has really called to me and when I get called I listen.  I've been telling you that 2026 is a powerful year for you to learn more about yourself and to make sure that you are walking a path that is authentic to you.  How many of you have noticed changes in your life that align with this? If you have changes you've been wanting to make this is going to be a powerful time for you to work on manifesting them and to make them happen.

This energy is calling you to tune into your heart and soul and to really make sure that you are aligned with the path that you are walking. If you aren't you are going to feel a strong pull that is meant to help get you there.  Answer that call and you will find it easier to accomplish the things that you are trying to do.

It's a powerful time to work with energy of the heart as your heart is directly connected to you. If you are someone who has found yourself feeling shut down because of pain that has happened in your life or that is happening in your life  you are going to find that this is an incredible time to work with healing energy and to work on opening up that heart energy. It's important for you to do that.  The more shut down you are, the more you miss out on in your life.  Open up your heart and be open to that healing energy.  You will find that in doing that, it improves your health and well-being as well as your connection to yourself and your intuition. 

I would be amiss if I didn't mention the powerful energy that the mighty Leo is bringing us right now.  We are in Leo season and the Lion's gate portal bring us the powerful energy of Leo and the Lion.  It brings extra courage and confidence to help you to stand up tall and strong and to do those things that maybe you've questioned you were able to do.  If you are struggling envision the lion walking next to you to call upon their energy to help you on your path. 

The Lion's Gate Portal will close on the 12th of August which is the day that we celebrate our New Moon and the beginning of Eclipse Season.  This is a huge time to work on manifesting the things that you want in your life.  Most important though is to be sure that whatever you are doing it truly aligns with who you are and what you want in your life.  That is where you will find success. If you aren't doing that you may find some interesting challenges coming your way. ;)

Full Moon Blessings!

 

Full Moon Blessings! Welcome to your July Full Moon!  Our Moon this evening is known as the Full Buck Moon among many other names.  In the United States, most deer often shed their antlers in the beginning of the year between January and February and now they are back to full growth.   I've also seen it referred to as the thunder moon because there tend to be more thunder storms this time of year.  

Many moons ago now I gained the understanding that my Grandfather was a powerful spirit guide for me and that one of the ways that he came to me was to send me deer to let me know that he was with me or to help to reassure me or send me signs when I needed it.  One of my most profound experiences with this was when I lost my Golden Retriever Max.  I was put in the position of having to decide to put him down which is never easy and was incredibly torn up about that decision as well of the lost of an amazing fur baby.  I went to walk near a lake that I find comforting and on my walk that day a deer came bounding out of the woods towards me. It's the closest I've ever been in person and I remember the two of us just sitting and staring at each other. The feeling that came over me was quite similar to the one time that I saw my Grandfather in spirit that I told you about several weeks ago now on Moonsong Daily Magick.  It's a distinct feeling and one that I will never forget.  

I tell you this story because I always love giving you examples that spirit is with us and that our loved ones on the other side are always with us. It's something that I've found a lot of comfort with through the years and honestly a huge part of the reason that I do what I do with all of you! It's one of the many things that got me started working with all of you was I went looking for someone near and dear to me that I lost and I wanted proof that she was still with me.  I found that and so much more through the years and I try to share it with you in all that I do. 

I believe that energy can be stored and it can repeat.  People looked up at our Moon this month and named it the Buck Moon for the deer that finally have their antlers growing in. If you've ever had the opportunity to see a single buck standing there and watching you, it can be some incredibly powerful energy.  I find that they bring energy of our ancestors and those who have walked before us. They have incredible connections with nature and remind us to trust in our intuition and ourselves and to find our way back to our roots.  In all this time of change that we are all experiencing I feel that energy strong with this Full Moon and I invite you to let it wash over you and to recharge your soul.  Stand under the Full Moon tonight and draw down that light envisioning it healing you and bringing you closer to connecting with yourself, your intuition, your guides and your loved ones on the other side.  I know some of you have been walking incredibly tough paths with a lot going on.  Our Moon today is bringing you powerful healing energy to take a moment for yourself and to align yourself with the energy and wisdom of those who have walked before us and those that walk with us today.  

At the end of this week we celebrate Lammas or Lughnasadh depending on your tradition. It's the first of the three harvests. It's a time to start collecting and seeing the results of that which you've been working so hard on in 2026.  This is a time to reflect upon where you have been, where you are standing now and where you wish to go.  Work with the spirit of the Deer to increase your connections and allow them to help bring you the information that you need to help you to stand a bit more confident and secure in yourself.   This is an incredibly strong year of transformation and the energy around you now and moving into eclipse season is here to help you to make some changes.  The first step is recognizing who you are now and where you are standing and working on releasing all that isn't yours to carry or all that isn't authentically you.  Work with that energy tonight. 

Our Full Moon tonight is in Aquarius.  It's going to help you to go with the flow of things happening around you.  It's going to help you to connect to your emotions and to release any emotional clutter that you may be carrying or things that are bogging you down emotionally.  If you are someone who has been struggling this Moon is bringing energy that's going to help you to get up and step into yourself.  It's time.  Things are different.  You are in charge of the direction your path is moving and there are some beautiful things waiting for you to discover them.

Working with the Heron as Your Spirit Animal
  I just came back from a couple of weeks spent with family in California and I have so many fun things to share with you! Today I planned on telling you about the starfish but a Heron flew over my house and it bumped the article on the Heron up to today!

One of the things that I love about spirit animals is when they start working with you if they are an animal in your life that has the ability to make their presence known they often will.  I started seeing the heron more frequently before we even left Massachusetts.  The picture of the Heron above was taken at Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey California.  I'm not even sure how long we stood there watching this particular heron.  What I found most amazing about him is he was only about 10 feet from us! It is the closest I have ever been to one and for that long!  I honestly would have stayed there a lot longer but I was with others and we had places we were going! :))

Nothing to do with the heron but if you ever get the chance to go to the Old Fisherman's Grotto at  Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey their clam chowder in a bread bowl is the best that I have ever had and that's coming from a New England girl. If you get it outside to go at their stand outside the restaurant it's half the price of dining in.  It's worth every penny.  So yummy!!

Back to the Heron. :) One of the things that you want to look for when looking at what energy a spirit animal is bringing you is the animal itself, it's appearance, habits, etc.  If you sit and watch a heron you quickly will realize that they are incredibly patient hunters.  They find their dinner by sitting incredibly still and waiting for the perfect moment to grab their dinner.  They are able to focus intensely on what they want and remain perfectly balanced while watching.   It always reminds me of spending time in the tree pose in yoga. It was always my favorite pose because it requires such intense focus.  To this day I will still work with that pose when I need help focusing my energy.   I've taught it to others as well to help them to learn how to focus their energy.

Sometimes you need a reminder to stand still and look at where you are right now.  We live in a world that is constantly calling upon us to move, do something, be somewhere, and that can be great but it can also be exhausting as you never get a chance to just enjoy where you are.  When the heron is coming to you, they often are letting you know that you need to slow things down, even if just for a few minutes, and look at where you are standing right now.  Before you race off in a new direction or make a big move you need to stop the world and make sure that what you are moving towards is what you want.  Silence the noise and pressure of the world around you and make sure that you are focused on what is most important in your life right now. 

Please note that you don't always have to be doing something.  There is value in stopping the world and just observing.  That time I spent watching the heron was one of my favorite moments of my trip to California. I wasn't running around.  I was one with a beautiful moment that I was blessed to see.  I also enjoyed the starfish and otters and I will bringing them to you soon too! lol :))  Some of my favorite and most vivid memories of my childhood were the days that I was somewhere relaxing in the grass watching the leaves move on the trees, the clouds go by and the bugs fly around.  Sometimes that simplicity and taking those moments to yourself is exactly what you need to restore inner peace.  We live in an incredibly overstimulating world, slow it down and find that peace.

Have you ever seen more than one heron together? I know I haven't. They also teach you to create your own path and to get comfortable with who you are and the path you are walking in your life.  It can be easy to let your life get defined by society and other people.  Take a moment to be sure that the path that you are walking in your life is one that is what you want and that you are comfortable with.

Quick Grounding Techniques For The Busy Empath

  As empaths and sensitives it's very important for us to stay grounded.  Many of us lead very busy lives and don't always have time to meditate for a certain amount of time each day, cleanse our chakras, or participate in other activities that can take a bit of time to help ground yourself.  Being a Mom of two little ones, I am always looking for ways to help myself ground quickly.  Below are some of my favorite methods.  

1.  Walk barefoot - One of the quickest ways to ground is to connect your tootsies right up to Mother Earth.  Even if you just take 5 minutes on your lunch break to wiggle your toes in the grass you will be amazed at how much it will help. 

2.  Drink water - Water is naturally grounding for all of us.  One of the biggest things I do is carry a water bottle with me always.  Just drinking it helps me to remain grounded.  You can add the visualization of the water cooling your core as you drink it. 

3.  Wash Your Hands - Each time you wash your hands, envision that water washing any negativity out of your body and right down the drain.  You can do this in your morning shower as well or your evening bath.  Let the water wash that negativity away.

4.  Breathe - Such a basic skill but so often overlooked.  Breathe in positive energy, breathe out negative energy. Easy right?

5.  Sunshine - Let the SunLord bathe you in his loving positive energy.  Even a couple minutes will help.

6.  Dance In The Rain - You get extra points for splashing in the puddles barefoot. Why do we stay inside when it rains? Unless it's freezing get out there! You're washable.

7.  Tabletop fountains - Water is naturally grounding if you can put tabletop fountains around you would be amazed how much they can help.

8.  Incense - I will run lavender in my home when I need extra grounding.  White Sage works for me as well.  Experiment with scents, there may be others that appeal to you and provide that instant calm.  Oh! I also love the Clean Cotton smell from Yankee Candle! 

9.  Affirmations - Tell yourself to ground.  "Negative Energy Be Gone." Say it like ya mean it. You'd be amazed how quickly it works.  You are in control so take it.

10.  Gemstones - Charge a gemstone to keep on you to help with grounding.  Obsidian is an excellent choice, hematite, or charge a smoky quartz or plain quartz crystal.

These are just a few of the many many ways.  Bottom line is you are in control and you know what makes you tick best.  Find those things that can calm you instantly and work well with you and start using them.  Yes it may take you an extra 10 seconds here and there but it will save you several minutes on anything you are doing if you are calm.  Ever notice how much faster things roll when you're calm?    Stay Grounded

Spirit Animals Calling You

I know I'm like many of you that love animals.  Many of us have our favorites that we share our lives with like the kitties that I have rescued that live with me.  I also have spirit animals that I'm aware of that have worked with me forever like the wolf, hawk and fox that I've been drawn to for a long time. 

Have you ever noticed that sometimes a new animal will catch your attention? Maybe turtles or frogs are crossing the road in front of you.  The first time perhaps is a coincidence or the rain storm that happened but that third frog.....perhaps there's something else going on. Maybe you notice that all of a sudden you can't get enough pictures of butterflies and they seem to be showing up absolutely everywhere.  When you find patterns like this you may find it's because a spirit animal is currently working with you, or perhaps a spirit animal is trying to get your attention that is working with you. 

I have been working with spirit animals a long time and part of what I love about them is they will often make their energy known if they can.  Sometimes I wonder if they have a bit of help from our guides? I always thought it would make sense that we would travel together on the other side. I know I will have them come through together from time to time.  When you find certain animals keep coming to you stop and notice them.  Spend some extra time learning about them and the type of energy that they typically bring.  You may find that by simply acknowledging their presence and becoming aware of their animal spirit energy you can receive a powerful message from them and a boost in the energy that you receive from them.

Looking for Your Soulmate? Soul Mates, Twin Flames and Relationships

 

I have so many of you who come to me looking for your soulmate or wanting to know if the person that you are with is your soulmate.  For me this is a bit of a complicated question to answer as my beliefs may be a bit different then some. So for those of you looking for that perfect love, or those of you who believe you may have found them, this article is for you.

As many of you know who’ve been with me for awhile, I am a firm believer in reincarnation. I believe we come back over many lifetimes to learn lessons that will help us on the other side. When we come back we come back in groups.  I call these groups our soul groups and I would call anyone within that group a soul mate.  While some souls from your soul group reincarnate with you, others may stay back or work with you as guides.  You may find your soul mates among family members, friends, and or people that you know very casually. You may even find that you are able to recognize the energy of those who belong to your soul group quickly.  This may result in you feeling like you’ve known them forever and that immediate comfort level.

When you find a soul that you recognize or perhaps you are dating that person you may think that they are the one you are meant to spend your life with because you have that immediate connection. Their energy will often feel comforting and familiar to you as you’ve traveled many lifetimes together. Just because a person feels like a kindred soul to you, does not necessarily mean you are meant to spend this life with them.  This energetic connection is where I think some of us get confused. Sometimes this person or soul may have agreed to come to help you learn a lesson. While this soul feels amazing and loving and familiar to you, you may find yourself in a relationship that is not beneficial for you. This can make it even more difficult to leave a relationship that is not working well for you. On the other hand you may have an amazing relationship with this person and have indeed agreed to be together in this lifetime. It may be a beautiful loving relationship and the two of you may be here to support each other in this life.

The Twin Flame is your other half.  I believe we are whole at the beginning of our creation and then separated. There are many opinions out there on how many lifetimes you will spend together, I’ve heard only the first and last, and in other places I’ve heard many. I personally believe you will travel several lifetimes with this person. This is a rare and precious gift when you get to spend a lifetime with your twin. It will be unlike any relationship that you have ever experienced before. There are several things that you will look for…

– Undeniable Connection: You will feel like you have known this person forever and have a comfort level from the beginning as if you have spent many lifetimes together.

– Comfort: The comfort level will be unlike that you’ve ever felt before. You will immediately feel “at home.”  

– Empathic Energy: You will feel each others energy clearly, even if you are miles apart. You may also take on symptoms of your flames emotions, illnesses etc.  

– Unspoken Words: You will often know what the other is thinking without saying a word.  

– Energetic Touch: You are actually able to touch each other with energy. You are that sensitive to each other’s energy.  

– Dream Transfer: You will see each other in dreams and actually be able to recall them together.  

– Synchronicity: You will find you call and message each other at the same time frequently.  

– Health Awareness: Once together you will both amazingly start to improve your health. You may find yourself craving only healthy foods or picking up new exercise routines.  

– Spirituality: This one is huge. There is a profound spiritual connection, and your relationship will deepen your faith together as you will realize that without a doubt the universal energy is much bigger then the world in which we live.  

– Past Life Memories: You may find when you are together you have past life memories, and can see snapshots of previous lives, what you looked like, where you lived etc.  

– Complimentary Interests: You will have complimentary interests. Your twin flame will have talents in areas that you may be lacking so that when combined you are an amazing presence.  

– Your Mission: A knowing that you are here and have been brought together to do something significant together and make some improvement in this world.  

– Gifts: This is a giving relationship on both sides.   – Karma: You may be aware of karma from past lives, you may even remember specific incidences, but you will resolve them and move past them in this life.  

– Inspiration: You truly inspire each other in all ways.  

– Time: Time may appear to freeze or get lost when you are together.  

– Determination: There will be an equal determination on each side to make the relationship work.

These are just a few of what I feel are the most important things to look for. When you experience a twin flame relationship you will know it without a doubt for it will exceed anything you have ever known. Now this is not to say that you will never disagree or need to work on your relationship.We are all human.  However you will work together to make it work, and with each obstacle you overcome your relationship will deepen so that you keep reaching levels. The beauty of it though, is the deepening of levels feel infinite.

Please know that this is not a relationship that you will have every lifetime. Many times your twin flame will remain behind acting instead as a guide for you in the lifetime you are in, so even if they are not with you in person, they are still with you.

If you are lucky enough to have it in this lifetime though it will change your life. You will become healthy, fit, make changes you need to, and find yourself living in perfect harmony with the world around you as long as you both work together on both your relationship and spirituality.
