Poisonous or Toxic Herbs

Today I have a pretty serious topic, and I've been wanting to talk to you about it for quite some time now: poisonous or toxic herbs.  Please know that just because someone is selling something, it does not mean that it's safe for use.   When purchasing magickal mists, salves, incenses, and other items online or in shops, you really want to read the ingredient lists thoroughly and do your own homework on what they contain.  If the ingredients aren't available, you should walk away.

You will often find herbs like Mandrake, Belladonna, Mugwort, Foxglove, Wolfsbane, and so many others that you have to be careful with how you are using them, and some you may want to avoid altogether.

Historically, some of these ingredients may have been used for divination and other magickal work, but that doesn't mean they were safe then or are today.  We have a lot more information at our fingertips today, and you definitely want to do your homework when it comes to the herbs you use.
You also want to make sure that they are reputable sources.  Please know that the opinions on Facebook, blogs, etc, are often not reputable.

I adore herbs; many of you know that.  You do need to be respectful of them and careful with what you use.  Please make sure you are familiar with an herb completely before bringing it into your life.  Be especially careful with herbs you ingest or apply to your skin.  It's worth the extra time to research what you are using.  You also need to know how you react to different herbs.  I always recommend trying things in small amounts until you are sure you are ok with them.

Have a magickal day!

Much Love and Many Blessings,
