Happy New Year!! Welcome 2026!!

 

Are you ready? Tonight is the night! It's our final day of 2025 and tonight, as the clock strikes midnight we begin 2026!  For many of us 2025 hasn't been an easy year.  There's been a lot of movement and a lot of us have been navigating some pretty big challenges in our lives.  They have contributed to where we are standing today as we get ready to step onto a new path to begin a new year.  2025 was the year of the snake and it helped us to shed things that we needed to let go of or things that weren't working for us any more.  It also was the year of the heart.  As we began the year I told you that you were going to go on a journey of the heart.  It helped you to understand your hearts desires and to see where love was and perhaps wasn't in your lives.  As you stripped away the things that you needed to let go of, you should find that you are standing here ready to start a new path that is going to help you to learn more about yourself.   I've been picking up the energy for several weeks now. It always comes to me early.  Some of you may have noticed that I've been mentioning that 2026 is the year that you are going to learn to be true to yourself and to find the path that you are meant to be walking.  As you've let go of a lot in 2025, you are going to find that 2026 is the year that you rise up and rebuild.  It's going to be an empowering year and a magickal year for those of you who choose to come back to your roots and allow yourselves to shine bright like you should!  2026 is the year of the horse.  Horses represent freedom in your life.  If you've been working on letting go of things you should find that you are now at a place where you feel more freedom in your life.  Now the question is, what are you going to do with it?  You may still find that you have more to let go of or to work on letting go of and that's ok. In fact I'm sure you will continue to do that.  The energy of transformation around everyone is absolutely huge.  This is a powerful time in our lives.  Just as you have no doubt changed significantly since you started 2025,  you will find the same true of 2026.  What's important this year is something that is always important, as you navigate each day make sure that you are living your life by being true to who you are.  Please be careful of living a life that is heavily influenced by what people want or need you to be.  Come back to your roots and really feel your heart and soul.  Follow your intuition.  Shine bright my dear one, this is your year to let your heart fly free and to bring that magick that you know you have inside you out into the world.  Let's have an amazing 2026!!! Blessings for Yule and the Winter Solstic

 

Blessings of Yule and the Winter Solstice! While today we experience the longest period of darkness, we must remember that today is also the day that we prepare for the return of our Sun God. As we turn the Wheel of the Year today we will find that our days, once again, begin to lengthen as the strength of our Sun God grows and we are able to enjoy his light a bit longer.  It's the perfect night to celebrate the darkness of the night, and use this time to pause and reflect upon days gone by, while understanding that the light is returning to us bringing us energy of growth and new beginnings in our lives. 

Today we also celebrate our Winter Solstice, the beginning of winter and for many of us that means getting ready for some colder days and snow that may be headed our way.  While I enjoy snow around the holidays I'm usually quite ready to move on from it as soon as we reach the first day of January.  While it can be pretty and there really is something to be said for those quiet nights of snow, especially when the Moon lights it up,  I still prefer when we can have our gardens back and I can spend time by my pond.  Here in New England we haven't had much for snow this year yet. We had a bit of snow on Thanksgiving. Funny enough that seems to be almost an annual tradition here to get a dusting right around Thanksgiving.  While I always have hopes of a white Christmas, that's not in the cards for my town this Christmas.

Today is also Yule! Yule is one of the oldest winter celebrations in the world.  So many different traditions are being passed down each year through families and I find them all so much fun to learn about. Some that I am familiar with are the hanging of dried apples and oranges as they represent the sun and help to bring that energy towards us.  Holly and Ivy were used as decorations to help attract Nature Sprites or spirits to come and join in the celebrations.  You may find that a sprig of Holly was kept near the door to welcome holiday guests and bring them a bit of good fortune.  Bay leaves were burned to bring prosperity in the coming months.  This is also the night that the Yule Log was typically burned as well.  The Yule log was supposed to be a log from your own property or a gift from someone.  It was meant to burn on the Solstice night and then smolder for 12 days.  A more modern tradition involves adding three candles to the Yule log in celebration. As a witch I like to choose a log that has the wood that has the magickal properties that I wish to draw in the coming year. You can also hang branches with ribbons on them that have the magickal properties you wish to draw towards you.

While Samhain is the time that we often celebrate our Ancestors, I find this is often an important time of year to honor their memories and welcome their spirit as well.  I can feel their energy around us and honestly some times I can feel it stronger now than I can at Samhain.  I believe this is because at this time of year we often engage in traditions that have been passed down through our families like hanging certain decorations, making certain recipes or even lighting candles in memories of loved ones who may not be with us.  Each year I make sure to do at least one thing that honors my loved ones on the other side. If often winds up being a lot more. I find that I often wind up teaching my children a lot about their elders that walked before them around this time of the year.

No matter how you choose to celebrate I wish all of you the most wonderful holiday season, filled with health, love, joy and happiness.  Be open to the ways that others celebrate as well. There are so many things that we can learn from each other.

Merry Meet and Good Morning! Today is Sunday, December 21, 2025. The Sun influences our energy on Sunday. The Sun brings us positive energy and clarity and you will find that it can be quite helpful to spend a bit of time working with this energy today. It’s a powerful day for healing and taking some time to reset your energy. Time spent in meditation or in quiet thought can help to bring you clarity. It’s a good day to look at what you have coming up in the coming days and to make plans for the things that you want to do and how to make them happen. If you are working with energy today it’s a great day to spend some extra time cleansing, grounding, shielding or working with healing energy. It’s also a good day to work with energy that involves pursuing goals. Today is a great day to work with Sunstone or Topaz.

Our Moon today is Waxing, First Quarter with 2% visibility. We are currently in the first Quarter of the Moon known as our Waxing Crescent Moon. We recently celebrated our New Moon and the illuminated part of the Moon is increasing. As the light of the moon increases know that it will also help to illuminate things in your life. This is a great time to seek information or to work on growing things that you wish to see happen in your life. Set intentions for what you want to work on and try to take steps towards them each day. It’s also a great time to make sure that you are on a path that truly aligns with what you want in your life. When looking to the Goddess you will find that often this lunar phase is compared to the Maiden Goddess. The Goddess in her Maiden aspect brings us energy of new beginnings. She reminds you to take time to play and to do those things that make you smile and bring you happiness. It’s a great time to allow yourself extra time to dream and to spend time being creative.

The 12 Days of Yule Begins Tomorrow on Moonsong Daily Magick!

 

While Yule is an ancient Pagan tradition, the 12 Days of Yule is a more modern one.  It's something that I have come across frequently in my travels over the last several years, and I wanted to bring it to you this year as something that you may want to adopt on your path.  I love bringing new and old traditions to you so that you can form a spiritual path that is uniquely you! Let me be clear though... Yule is celebrated in many traditions, from 1 to 12 days.  The 12 Days of Yule that I'm sharing with you is inspired by these old celebrations, but from everything I can see, it is a more modern tradition in what I am presenting to you over the next 12 days.

The 12 days of Yule is flexible! You can start and end it whenever you want.  I've seen it most frequently done on the eve of Yule, through New Year's Eve, or beginning on Yule and ending on the first day of the New Year. I decided to do it with you this way for this year! I hope you will have fun with it!!

Please note that this experience should be uniquely yours! I will present the themes and some ideas to go with them each day, but feel free to get as creative as you want! This is something I hope makes the next 12 days a little brighter for you and helps you improve your connection to your spiritual path. Welcome to the final New Moon of 2025 and the Moon that is going to bring energy to set the pace for the lunar cycle that is going to bring us into 2026!!  As you work with the New Moon tonight it's a great time to start thinking about what you would like to work on bringing your way in 2026.  What is it that you want to leave behind as we get ready to close the door on 2025.  Some of us may have a bit of a list going right? Here's the thing, for as tough as I know this year has been on many of us, I bet most of you will agree that we've learned a lot right?
