Gratitude Altar
This is a great time of year to give thanks for all the blessings that
are in your life. Recently we talked about creating an ancestor altar,
today I wanted to introduce you to a gratitude altar.
This is something that is simple to do. It's a way to give thanks for
the many blessings that are in your life. Find a space that you can use
to express your thanks for the blessings in your life. You can then
fill this space with things that you are thankful for and that make you
happy. Pictures are a great place to start. You may want to put
pictures people that you love, pets, memories and anything else that
fills your heart with love and makes you smile. Write notes with
memories that you create each day and add them to the altar. Consider
things like candles with favorite scents, things that remind you of your
childhood or representations of your dreams for the future. The
possibilities are endless.
In creating a space like this, you send thanks to your guides, the
Universe and you celebrate the things that are so special to you in your
life. Remember that energy attracts energy. This also helps to invite
energy of blessings to come to you in your life.

Create a Seasonal Altar for Your Loved Ones
As we approach the holiday season it can be tough knowing loved ones are on the other side. One of the things that I love in the Samhain season is the closeness and celebration of our loved ones who have crossed. You can carry that tradition through the holidays of Yule as well.
Choose a quiet area of your house that you can use for an altar for your loved ones. Decorate it for the holidays with perhaps some pretty lights, trinkets from holidays gone by, or anything else that you can think of that you wish to have as a tribute to your loved ones. Place pictures of your loved ones on this altar. You can dedicate the altar to one loved one or have it for more than one loved one. It’s truly up to you.
As an option, if you wish at the front of the altar you can place a box. You want this to be a box with a hole in the top or a cover. This is your holiday message box. In this box throughout the season, you can write notes to your loved ones on the other side. Just fold them up and put them in the box for them to receive.
Light candles on the altar whenever you wish to give them an extra tribute or enhance the energy on the altar. Just be sure they are away from flammables.
It’s a really nice way to have an extra connection with your loved ones through the holidays. Feel free to customize these and add whatever you wish. It’s your loving energy that will add to it.

Those of you who have been traveling on this journey of magick with me
for awhile know that I adore the night of the New Moon. This is a great
night to get started with something new, send your intentions out into
the world or to simply get out there and wish upon that first star that
you see. The foundation to magick is working with energy and the energy
that you work with tonight will be important for the upcoming lunar
cycle.
One New Moon is in Scorpio tonight. We've had some powerful energy of
change moving around us that calmed down a bit and then got ramped back
up by Mercury Retrograde on the 9th and things are probably going to
keep shifting around you until that ends on the 29th. It's always great
